A. Measurement of wind speed in duct
The static pressure, dynamic pressure and total pressure of the gas should be measured in the test. The measurement of wind speed in the duct should be carried out in the section where the air flow is relatively stable. The orifice of gas full pressure should face the direction of airflow in the duct, and the orifice of static pressure measurement should be perpendicular to the direction of airflow.
The measurement of gas pressure (static pressure, dynamic pressure and total pressure) is usually made by taking out differential pressure signal with a pitot tube inserted into the duct and reading it out on the differential pressure instrument connected with it.
B. Selection of Measuring Orientation
In addition to the correct use of differential pressure measuring instrument, reasonable selection of measuring section and reduction of air disturbance have great influence on the measured results. The measurement of wind speed and volume in ventilation duct is obtained by the conversion of pressure difference. The measurement section should be chosen as far as possible in the straight pipe section with smooth air flow. When measuring section is set in front of elbow, tee and other special-shaped parts (relative direction of airflow movement), the distance from these parts should be greater than 2 times the diameter of pipeline.
C. Measuring according to the shape of air duct
A. Rectangular ducts
The cross section of the duct can be divided into several small rectangles of equal area. The measuring points are arranged in the center of each small rectangle. The length of each side of the small rectangle is about 200 mm.
B. Circular duct
Two perpendicular measuring holes are set in the same section, and the pipe section is divided into a certain number of concentric rings of equal area. The more measuring points, the higher measuring accuracy.
